The publication will be launched at the Adelaide and Melbourne International Film Festival, the ABC reported.

“Next Big News will offer a range of stories across regional and local news and information services,” the company said.

“Our aim is to deliver a variety of local content across a wide range of audiences, including young and old, with a focus on our communities.”

The aim is for the Next Big Stories platform to provide a platform for all Australians to engage with local news, culture and public affairs.

“The launch comes ahead of the federal election, when the next national leader of the Coalition will be announced.

The newspaper is the first publication in the state of Victoria, which has had a newspaper in operation since 1993.

The next big news publisher, which will have a print edition, will be called The New Statesman.
