India’s Prime Minister says he wants to talk to the US president

ISTANBUL, Turkey – India’s Narendra Modi, who is also the prime minister of Turkey, said on Sunday he wants a phone call with US President Donald Trump, who has vowed to take action against the PKK, which is designated a terrorist organization by Turkey.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with the Turkish prime minister, Modi said that the two sides had agreed on a number of issues, including trade and security, that would be discussed in the near future.

“We want to talk, but I don’t think that there will be a problem on the sidelines,” he said.

“It will be on the table in a formal and substantive manner,” Modi said.
